Meeting with Juan Camilo Velasquez, General Manager of Lactalis Colombia

Charlotte Courtois gives a TEDx conference in Paris

As you probably know, I spent 2 months telecommuting and developing my conference business in Bogota, Colombia from September to November.

Two months of hard work, two months of sightseeing and two months ofinspiration.

So when I met Juan Camilo Velasquez, Managing Director of Lactalis Colombia, and we started talking about his career around the world and the culture shock of his return home, the light bulb in my head went on instantly.
I wanted Juan Camilo to be the very first guest on my podcast, Surprises Interculturelles.

I told him about it, he was surprised at first (surprises are kind of my thing!) and to my great delight, he agreed.

All that remained was to manage the logistical side of things, which was made incredibly easy thanks to the Lycée français Louis Pasteur de Bogota, who generously offered to host us in their recording studio.

"There was nothing left to do.

Appointment made, we met in this magnificent studio to talk intercultural.

In a totally informal and relaxed state of mind, in this intimate bubble, Juan Camilo shared with me, and thus with my listeners, his vision, full of curiosity and wonder, of intercultural encounters. He spoke, of course, about his job as General Manager Colombia of the Lactalis Group and his vision of the company's internal management. He talked about the different chapters of his life in France, South Korea, Brazil and many other countries. We also talked about Colombia, its culture, its history, its evolution between the time he left and the time he returned.

Of course, Juan Camilo also shared his own anecdotes of intercultural surprises, as well as best practices and tips for effective cultural diversity management.

It was fascinating. I loved welcoming him to my microphone and being able to share his journey and vision with my listeners.
I look forward to seeing you here or below to listen to either the audio or video version of the episode!
