How do you end up taking the microphone?

Charlotte Courtois on her Surprises Interculturelles podcast

🎙 I've launched a podcast, Surprises Interculturelles. Yes you probably already knew that.
What you may not know is everything that inspired me to make it.
How do you end up on the mic?

👉 Step 1: Have something to say
But not just stuff to talk about. I like to talk, but not too much to say nothing. What I like to do is convey, to have a positive impact on my audience.

🌏 What I have to tell are all the crazy things that happened to me on my travels. Sometimes it was fun, sometimes it was surprising, sometimes it was downright ridiculous. But they always taught me things. And I want to share them.

👉 Step 2: Listen to podcasts and realize that if step 1 is good enough, being yourself is enough to be legitimate and go for it. And eat, sleep, drink, dream podcasts to soak up everything there is to know about getting started.

I learned this in particular by listening to the great "J'peux pas j'ai podcast" by Céline Steyer and Tips from Ausha (my host now).
... And by happily gorging myself on "Dans la tête d'un coureur" ("In the head of a runner")La Planète des Songes" by Mickael Duvette, You are not so smart" by David McRaneyPsychoshotFill'Expats" by Kelly Barichello and Géraldine Jackowski's "Balance Ton Héroïne"..

👉 Step 3: Hear THE podcast where you say to yourself "Eureka!"
And that's when I came across Richard Monvoisin's "Déjouer les manipulations"..
And it clicked! A short, solo format that wouldn't take me an insane amount of time to edit and prepare... I thought "why not me?"

👉 Step 4: (optional or even not recommended) Do a burn out and need to do something for the kiff, without pressure
I took my time creating this podcast, and I loved it!

👉 Step 5: Get started and pray people like it and listen!
You tell me!

It's "Intercultural Surprises", a short 5-10min, solo, fortnightly format, where I take you on a podcast tour of the world with me! Want to come along?
