Mexico - The time I ate a 30,000-year-old dish

Cross-cultural surprises

Podcast Mexico

🇲🇽 In this final episode of season 2, I take you to Mexico, where a simple story about a dish of meat cooked in a hole in the ground got me thinking about what connects humans across continents... and across centuries.

Mexican barbacoa, New Zealand hangi, Peruvian pachamanca, Jordanian zarb or Moroccan mechoui: what if our culinary practices were the silent witnesses of a deeply connected humanity?

It was during an incredible wedding in the Baja California desert that I discovered this ancestral cooking method. And I was shocked to discover later that the same technique exists on the other side of the world, in New Zealand. This culinary journey reminded me (if it was necessary to do so) that, beyond our differences, there are many invisible links between peoples, eras and traditions.

A wonderful way to conclude a season dedicated to cultural diversity, encounters, questioning and all those surprises that make the world so rich.

Thank you for listening so faithfully and for your invaluable feedback throughout the season 💛

🌞 I'll see you in September for a new season... and until then, I wish you a happy, curious and relaxing summer.

I talk about it in this episode:

Whether you're an expat, a traveller or just curious about cultures and diversity, this podcast is for you!

Enjoy!
